We camped here for two nights. The parking area is a gravel area across the street from the casino. This is just a parking area which has signs "No Overnight Camping" but when you call security at the number listed they say to camp as long as you wish. They do want you to come to the casino and try your luck. There are fine restaurants there. The experience here is totally free dry camping with others camped nearby. There is no dumpster for trash so just take it to your next stop. Since the parking is close to the Interstate, it can be noisy. We would stay here again.

This is certainly one of the finest state parks we have ever stayed at. We had no trouble getting our 38' motorhome into our back-in space. There is a 40' rig parked right next to us. 45' rigs could be tight though. The 50 AMP electricity is spot on and water pressure is good. The water does taste pretty bad even after being filtered twice. What a view we have here! We are close to all of the stores in Cottonwood and to Sedona, Jerome and the beautiful Oak Creek Canyon. There is fishing, hiking, geocaching, horse back riding and many other activities in the area. We definitely will stay here again and again!!

Typical KOA park with good electric and water hookups. Since we were only staying one night, we didn't get a sewer hookup site. We got the AARP discount of 10% which paid the taxes. This place would be good again for a one night stay.

The camping is free here like it is in many other casinos along I-40 so I will compare it to some of the others. The hookups were very good and the 50 AMP electricity was spot on. The parking spot compared to others could stand to be upgraded from its gravel and rotting railroad ties to pavement. I say this because if you spend money in the casino like most do, the camping may not be free at all. We would stay here again.

We stayed 3 nights so we paid $20 for two nights and got the third night free. Heck of a deal. Free laundry which we availed ourselves of. We ate dinner in the clubhouse which was $10 for some pretty fine BBQ. The full hookups were great except for a trailer or 5er: your pickup truck would block the roadway while you are disconnecting. The hookups are a bit too far forward. This is a newish park built in 2007 and is the best around easily. We would stay here again.

We used our Good Sams discount here. The water is very high pressure here so you will want to step it down some. The 50 AMP electric is spot on. The crushed limestone drives and parking spaces were rather dusty since it was dry here; it probably could get a bit sloppy in wet weather. The park overlooks a rather busy US 71 highway so the highway noise is is somewhat invasive when your rig is open. We spent one night here and would stay here again for only one night.

The park hosts were the absolute best we have seen in Iowa. The pull through we had would have been a little close if the park was totally filled because of side by side parking. The park wasn't full so there was a whole lot of room between rigs. The water, electricity and Wi-Fi were very good. Make sure you reserve a spot if you are going to be there for a holiday weekend. We will stay there often in the future because our daughter and husband have a lake condo close by.

Campground is clean and the electricity and water are good. The water pressure is high so you may want to use your pressure reducer. The spaces can be a bit close together for a noncommercial park. There was adequate room however. Lots of trees and a nice playground for our grandkids. Plenty of room for our toad in front of the coach. The park hosts were friendly. The lake is beautiful. We would stay here again in the future.

You have to pay an entry of $4 per vehicle per night to get into the park then $17 per night for the camping. We had to pay $8 to get both vehicles into the park then one night's camping. We only stayed one night but we definitely would come back again because there is a whole lot to do there. The park has beautiful trees and paved pads for most rigs. You must fill your water tank at one of the faucets nearby. They were adding more water faucets to the park and plan to have a faucet for each two sites I believe. There is a dump station that looked OK. We got a peek of the DirecTV sattellite through the trees so everyone was happy. Has a wonderful interpretive center that we didn't have time to get to.

For sure the finest RV park we have stayed at in Iowa. We are full-time RVers and many of the people staying here are full-timers. The daily rent shown is based on the per month rate. The place is spotless clean and there are really no junky rigs parked here. The pad we had was a concrete paved pull-through. The full hookup utilities were very new and really good; the electric was spot on. The laundry is both clean and very functional. They have a huge clubhouse toward the back of the park with pool table and other games, large screen TV, etc. The pond is real nice and well cared for. We definitely will stay here again.

We love this park; it is one of the finest we stay at. The only problem I can see with it at all is the dump station in the B loop is a real bottle neck which can only handle one rig at a time. If they would only open the dump site close to the exit of the park, I would be extremely happy. They have this dump which can handle two rigs at a time locked up tight. Everything else at the park is superbe, the hosts, the showers, the camp sites, everything. We will come back here again and again!

The owner was really nice and showed us to our spot. He even gave us free WiFi for the two nights we were there. The place is real junky and has almost entirely trailers and mobile homes of people who seem to be living there full time. During the two nights we were there no other RVs came in to camp there. All of the hookups were adequate. We did not use the cable TV since our dish served us well enough. We definitely would not stay here again. The whole place was rather dismal.

We have the "geezer" pass which got us our camping for half price. We have camped in the A Loop which has only 30 AMP service and water for the past three years. Our preference is to camp in the A Loop. The pads are asphalt paved with a paved area for your towed auto or truck. Beautiful park close to the lock and dam on the Arkansas. Real close to Ft. Smith with great shopping. We love to geocache at the old Ft. Chaffee. We will definitely come here again.

The owners are just wonderful here; they greeted us very well and led us to our site. They came back later with numerous brochures and info on the area which was much appreciated. The park sites are gravel and all of the hookups were adequate. The problem we always have with these kinds of parks however is just how close together all of the rigs are parked in their sites; we really don't like that. We are Escapees so we got their special rate of 50% off the regular rate. There is a good place next door to get your rig in to get propane if you need it.

Rusty, the owner of the place was very helpful when we checked in. She even directed us to our camp site. Boy, talk about being out in the middle of nowhere; this is it. The sites are very fine gravel and adobe clay and possibly could become muddy in a rainstorm. The hookups were fine but the water pressure was a bit low. Beautiful scenery. We were lucky to be here to see the full moon coming up over the mountains. If we both hadn't been sick with colds, we would have availed ourselves of the surpbe birding in the area and the geocaches hidden around here.

We were pleasantly surprised with the high quality of this park, which is totally free when you get a Player's Club card and spend at least $10 in the casino. The water and 50 AMP electricity were excellent for the three nights we stayed here. There is a dump station closeby that can be accessed as you leave. We had no problem spending the $10 at the casino.

A good place to stay for one night. The electricity was borderline "hot". The other connections were adequate. You pay here on the honor system. If you want cable TV it is an extra dollar. We stopped by the "park" west of town. That place was real dismal and they wanted $28 for a 50 AMP site with 10% off for Good Sam. There was no one there so we hot footed it to K & K in town. We would stay here again for only one night.

Super park! Lots of room between sites. Great hiking on wonderful trails. The hosts and the park rangers are great. The host comes to your rig to collect your money for your stay. Don't leave your bird feeders out overnight because the javalinas will knock your shepherd hooks down and eat your seed and possibly your feeder as well. We also dump our bird water as well. Lots of coyotes howling at night. Love it here!

We have stayed here for two weeks each year since 2001 since we have so many family and friends in the area. We have watched things improve here over the years. The new 50 amp service now is super. We have never had a bad spot in the park. Now, they are building a new visitor center which should be finished next time we come through the area. It is close to Mesa with everything you will ever need. The thing they could improve in all of the Regional Parks in the county is recycling; the only thing they take is aluminum cans. This overall is one of the best parks we stay in each year. It is so popular, you may have have to stay in the overflow area a while before you can get a spot in the campground. The hosts are real helpful and friendly.

We stayed for a month so our cost per night was vastly reduced. Our son and his family live in Studio City, and this park is less than a 30 minute commute on a good day; that was our only purpose for staying here. The office personnel were very friendly and answered all of our questions. The small store here is well stocked and has convenience store prices or a bit higher. You may want to check the dates on things like milk though. All hookups worked well in the park. We were disappointed that you could only recycle aluminum cans and glass bottles here. They sell propane and is a great spot to fill up. The sites are crushed rock and grass which did not get muddy when it rained. We will stay here again in the future.

A real nice park with great pleasant management. All hookups worked properly. They are putting in new electrical hookups which should be ready in the near future. We had to hook up our 50 AMP coach to older 30 AMP electric this time. The voltage was adequate. The place is clean and a general sprucing up was going on while we were here. Since we stayed here a month and a half, we got to know them very well. They handle mail and deliveries very well here for you. The beach is a very short walk out the fence. We would definitely stay here again. If staying during a holiday make reservations well in advance of your stay.

Super location. Calistoga is out of the high traffic area just south with super wineries real close by. Some of the spots are a bit close together but the one we moved to was one of the best in the center pull-through area. Would definitely go there again.

Real average park. The manager was not even there when we pulled in. The 30 AMP service was real funky; make sure you check it in your site. Not a very good value for the money, we felt.

You save $2 per night by getting a Players Club card at the casino. The staff is superior to most other parks; they were very helpful. All sites are paved with new services. Close to casino and shopping. There is security that drives around the park 24 hours a day. Also, there is a casino shuttle. We won at the casino!!

Super place to camp to check out the whole beautiful area. Totally paved area with all hookups in the rear of the back-ins. The sewer hookup is probably going to be a bit far away; so you may need to add length to your sewer hose to dump. The host was super friendly and gave us the best spot in the park. The front of the spot was a bit downhill but we got as level as we could. Still wonderful. The airport provides a bit of noise from time to time.

This place is below KOA standard; I feel. The park needs a face lift to be more like other KOAs we stay in. WIFI worked fine. Very similar park to other parks along the Interstate.

Very crowded park because of all of the petroleum activity in the area. Spots pretty close together. The office staff was very friendly and helpful. We used 30 AMP connection instead of 50 AMP to save money. The voltage here is borderline low in the park and our electrical box blew out while we were here and fried our neighbor's electrical plug for his trailer. The wind blows a lot here; a good place for Picken's wind generators.

The office staff was very friendly and helpful. The WIFI was very weak so we used our Verizon Broadband card. Very clean park. Owners have only had the park since August ,but you can tell they are going to do a great job with the park.

A great park. If you don't want to be with the ATV folks, don't stay in loop H. We did though and enjoyed it very well. The park hosts are a bit lazy here.

Good park with great management ready to assist you in any way. The 50 amp service showed a little low in voltage on our gauge but still adequate. Everything else is real nice for being in a real dismal place on a real dismal super windy day. We waited out the wind event for two nights. Chuey's Restaurant is a real good one in town; check it out.

One of the very best commercial parks we have ever stayed at. When we arrived, we were properly greeted, and told more than we ever hoped to know about the park and the Abilene area. We were escorted to our site, and the host made sure everything was fine with the site. He even assisted us in our parking. I felt as though I was registering at a five star hotel. Everything works here; the voltage was spot on; the WiFi works much better here than my Verizon Broadband; the place was very clean and everything, and I mean everything, was freshly painted. You will want to add this park to your itinerary whenever traveling through Texas; just leave room for me when I return again! As the gubernator says, "I will be back".

One of the very worst. We had to move over to the KOA in Van Horn to spend two more nights due to severe wind event in the area. The electricity was really funky on our 30 amp connection; I don't know if there are any 50 amp sites in this park. We couldn't find any. Don't plan to use your microwave or convection oven here. This park gives Passport America's already dubious reputation an even more tarnished reputation. I believe I will dump Passport America and join KOA's travel club.

The part up front that we stayed in for 5 days was pretty dusty and marginal. Even though we parked in a pull-through site, we had to back out the way we drove in because of low hanging branches of unkept and unpruned trees. We only stayed here because we wanted to be close to the wonderful birding in the area. The park is very dusty with red dirt everywhere. I would not want to be here in a rainstorm. The hookups were adequate for our 50 amp system since we weren't using either of our air conditioners. The water here is pretty decent.

The new managers are pretty good, but new to their job. Park is two blocks to the beach. The spaces seem to stay wet much of the time. Park is clean and well cared for. Hookups are rather new and excellent.

Park was beautiful but some of the sites were tight for our 38 ft. motorhome; we had to move three times while we were there. Many things were great but the one complaint we had was that the 30 Amp electricity was low voltage when the park was half full and totally unusable when the park was full on the Thanksgiving holiday. There are great hikes in the park and a wonderful golf course in the park.

The work campers working here are real nice people and they treated us very well. The park has a few spots for big motorhomes with beautiful views of the ocean. We were high on a bluff overlooking Pacific Coast Highway. The crashing of the surf was very loud at times and made you feel like you were camped right on the beach. The park is absolutely beautiful with flowers everywhere. We deployed our bird feeders and had numerous humming birds and seed eating birds visit. The few full time people living in the park were a whole lot of fun to be with. The overall experience at the park was wonderful!

We stay here twice every year both as we head south in the fall and as we return in the spring. These people who manage the place are the absolute best. They remember us from year to year and escort us right to our camp site. Everything works here and the sites are extremely level. The Coachlight RV dealership is also the best anywhere and their shop is said to be as good or better than the Newmar factory shop. We will go there over and over in the future and will probably purchase our next motorhome at the dealership.

Real average park. Our experience with the lady at the front desk was awful. She was real nasty to us when we checked in; she could have been having a bad day though. The dump station was located in a real awkward spot for a large motorhome to use so we didn't dump here. We did enjoy our time here as long as we didn't have to encounter the woman at the front desk. The restaurant was great here and their ribs are a must have. Will probably stay here again if in the area.
